Adopt a sea turtle.
The coast of the Caribbean Sea is a home to 10 different species of marine
turtle. This animal has survived trough more than 150 million years and its ve
ry
important to learn and show the visitors the work that is being done by Mexican
associations in order to preserve this delicate creature.
There are sanctuaries and protected areas that can only be visited with a
prepared expedition and with an authorized biologist. The best time to do this
tour is from June to September when we can have t
he
opportunity to seeing a female turtle venture inland in order to deposit her
eggs in the sand.
They have special places where they keep the eggs to protect them from the most
harmful predator, the human being, and in certain time of year we are allowed to
help the small turtles to go back to the sea and start a new life. This is how
we adopt a sea turtle by helping them to survive and continue their life cycle.
