If you are planning your wedding as a special event, the
Mayan Riviera
offers the best place in the world surrounded by an
amazing jungle, the breathtaking water of the Caribbean
ocean and the white sands of its coast. This event
of a lifetime will remain in your heart and your mind
forever.
As part of our services we offer the blessing of an
ancient culture. The Mayans have the tradition of asking
the elements and the energy of the universe to be
present at this special moment. The Shaman, traditional
healer of this culture, will bless in the ancient custom
the union of love and will create a bond of energy that
will last forever.
It can be done in the Shamans community and ritual
circle surrounded by the jungle where you will enjoy the
refreshing water of a natural sink hole and a delicious
authentic dinner afterwards.
Marrying by the
ocean…
The Caribbean Sea, with its turquoise water
and white sandy
beaches, gives you a fantastic opportunity to make your
wedding an unforgettable event.
The Mayan Riviera is surrounded by places where the
wedding ceremony can be done by the sea and blessed by
magical traditions. We can
organize the ceremony on the beach of your hotel or at
any location you decide.
Marrying in the
jungle…
Get married surrounded by the most beautiful atmosphere,
in the way of ancient traditions of the Mayans. We offer the ancient way of
getting married
in the middle of the jungle at night surrounded by
bright stars in the vast sky above.
The Mayan Wedding is full of symbols. For example at the
altar there are 4 small pots made of dried pumpkin
skin that in ancient times it was used for drinking and
keeping food fresh. In these recipients the balche is
served, sacred drink made by boiling water with tree
bark and Mayan honey
as if it was an infusion. The Mayan priest- Shaman-
offers some balche to the elements and gives the groom
and bride some
offerings to be exchanged during the ceremony. Offerings
can be food items such as corn which means the beginning
of life and sustainability of family or cacao and
chocolate seeds which mean wealth and strength.
In the community the Mayan wedding ceremonies
have been done since 1984 which makes
these the
only place in the Mayan Riviera sustained by
international associations as a sanctuary of restoration
for traditions and ancient customs.
